It’s Time to Call Trump’s Bluff on the Dreamers

The author, Nancy LeTourneau has been a writer for Washington monthly since 2014 and prior has written her own blogs. For 20 years she has been a part of non-profit organizations, influencing and implementing public policy on local and state level. Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Studies and a master’s in Marriage and Family therapy. She uses her credibility and respect to write a strong informative, and quite expressive message regarding Trump’s decisions with DACA.
DACA is the “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” which essentially lets minors who entered the United States illegally, to be eligible for a work permit for a renewable two-year period of deferred action. In this article, Nancy LeTourneau expresses her dissatisfaction with our president and Members of Congress involved with the situation. She reveals that legislation still hasn’t done anything to protect the Dreamers from deportation, and does not forget to leave out her detestation for the president.
Nancy LeTourneau’s argument essentially just exposes Trump and Congress on their lack of action to protect the Dreamers. She stands to defend the Dreamers from deportation and does everything in her power to reveal the corrupted ways of our government. Her intended audience is anyone who supports the immigrant youth, along with Democrats.
Although I support everything Nancy LeTourneau is saying, the way she presents her argument and information is a bit messy. It is obvious that she is extremely passionate and wants to protect the youth, but her evidence and logic behind her argument was unclear. Most of her evidence is from media as well as her own personal references. It seems to me that the logic behind her argument was expressed with more emotion and anger regarding what congress is potentially doing to our younger generation, rather than direct sources.
